The Handmade Faire is set for Sunday, April 20, 2008. This
is an indoor event that will be held on the grounds of the
Lighthouse Center - the National Resource Education
Foundation, proceeds from this even go to benefit the
grounds. The event is chartered by two artists, Abbie Galie
of http://www.OriginalAbbie.com
and Pola Galie
of http://www.WebmavenNJ.com
they are also
daughter in law & mother in law. The most
individual, unique, uncommon and gifted artists &
crafters will be handpicked to be vendors at the event.
The very best handmade commodities will be sure to make
a perfect, one of a kind gift for any mother this
Mother's Day. This event will go on rain or shine, as it
is an indoor event. Browse through rooms full of
handcrafted wares including basketry, decoys, jewelry,
wall art, stationary, knitwear and more. There will be a
art demo's going on throughout the day as well.
The show will be juried - what that means - this is not
your grandmom's craft show! All work will be handmade in a
variety of mediums & styles, no kits or retail items
will be present. Stylish, quality, one of a kind arts &
crafts will be on display for your shopping pleasure. Pick
something special and unique out for your mom this Mother's
Day (and nobody will mind if you pick up some awesome goods
for yourself!) Prices will meet a variety of budgets.
The location of the Handmade Faire is 194 acres adjacent to
Barnegat Bay in Waretown, Ocean County NJ. Facilities and
much of the site itself are handicapped accessible,
featuring ramps, handrails inside and out. NREF is a
non-profit, 501C-3 corporation, dedicated to environmental
leadership through education, research, interpretation and
communication. The organization, founded in 1976, continues
to provide ecological programming and activities, educating
toward an environmental ethic.
Admission and parking for the general public is
free. This is an event not to be missed!
